TV's Merriest Holiday Episodes

For Hicksflicks.com, Oct. 10, 2014

With all the TV series I'd collected over the years, it became a Christmastime habit with my wife and I that we would pull out holiday episodes and watch them in the weeks running up to Dec. 25.

Over the past few years, however, the DVD studios have been doing it for us, compiling holiday-themed episodes from several series on one or two discs for your TV-watching convenience during the season.

The latest, just released by Mill Creek, a discount DVD label, is "TV Guide Spotlight: TV's Merriest Holiday Episodes," a collection of holiday episodes from a variety of sitcoms, ranging from a 1964 episode of "Bewitched" to a 2001 episode of "The Ellen Show."

How much this will appeal to you depends, of course, entirely on your fondness for the various included shows. But some are genuinely hilarious.
