As the headline here suggests, it’s business as usual at your local cineplex, with a true rescue tale, a sequel to a sequel and a sleazy comedy.

Of course, there’s also a Western, which we might consider unusual if it were not the third to be playing in theaters at the moment, alongside “Revenant” and “The Hateful Eight.”

“The Finest Hours” (PG-13). This high-seas thriller is the true story of a 1952 rescue mission off Cape Cod when two oil tankers were destroyed by violent weather. The rescuers were courageous seamen aboard a lifeboat and a surfboat. Chris Pine stars, with Casey Affleck, Ben Foster and Eric Banner in support. A Walt Disney Studios production.

“Kung Fu Panda 3” (PG). Po (voiced by Jack Black) is reunited with his biological father (Bryan Cranston) in this second sequel in the popular animated franchise. Other voice performers include Angelina Jolie, Dustin Hoffman, Kate Hudson, J.K. Simmons, Lucy Liu and Jackie Chan.

“Jane Got a Gun” (R). Western action flick stars Natalie Portman as the title character, a rancher’s wife who calls on her former fiancé (Joel Edgerton) for help when her husband (Noah Emmerich) comes home riddled with bullets after clashing with an evil gang led by Ewan McGregor.

“Fifty Shades of Black” (R). Marlon Wayans, who co-wrote and co-starred in the “Scary Movie” and “Haunted House” franchises, among other film spoofs, co-wrote wrote and stars in this parody of “Fifty Shades of Grey” and other  “romantic” movies.
